To start off my story, I meet up with the owners of Bridgewater Inn. They needed access to their Google Business Profile, a Website, and a new Facebook page. I helped with all of those...
After the end of May 2025, I started posting more on the Eagle River Facebook page. Not knowing what would happen, my interest grew more and more everyday.
To back up a little, our family used to have a cottage on the Eagle River Chain (Lynx Lake) since 1966 and in 1986, my dad bought it from my grandpa.
We would spend the whole summers up in Eagle River! Even when I was able to work, I used the boat to go to work. My first job ever was at The White Spruce restaurant, Sweetwater, D&S and Heckel's (now your boat club)
I have so many memories of Eagle River that I really believe I am an excellent candidate to run this page even though I live in Brookfield, WI full-time and now since we sold the cottage 10 years ago, I get up to Eagle River now 2-3 times a year.
Fast forward to January 2026, the page is seeing over 600K views a month! I thought it would be a great opportunity to start reaching out to a few business owners. About half the businesses I contacted really appreciated what I was trying to do and the other half not so much... I was ready to give up until...
JC MEDIA
I reached out to Joel of JC Media in Eagle River. Joel is a fully licensed and insured drone operator in Eagle River, WI. I was looking at Joel's talents to help me capture a whole new prospective that is... from a birds eye view (the sky)
We got to talking, and I offered to build his website: www.JCMedia360.com. I also helped him create his Google Business Profile as well. Joel started to inspire me to keep moving forward with the Eagle River Facebook page...
Now with Joel's inspiration, the page is seeing over 2 million views! I start to get more curious... What happens if I type in Eagle River, WI into the Google search... from (at least) what I am seeing on my end is that the Eagle River page is the only social media link on the first page of Google... I've got something good going here...
What does the Eagle River page do?
While from time to time sharing some personal memories, I (John Steigerwald) started promoting businesses. Since the page was started based off of sharing simple memories, I didn't want to completely forget that and just promote businesses so I am offering to post on my page for Free.
Another reason to promote for Free is to say a big thank you to the area for all the years I spent growing up in Eagle River. This way, I can still feel like I am connected to the area even when I'm not there.

This Eagle River Facebook page was created in 2009 and has taken off from May 2025 and beyond. I have a way to stay connected while helping the community at the same time! It is a win-win!
